1. Worker Safety & Factory Resilience as Corporate Bedrocks
In modern footwear manufacturing, business continuity and client supply security are inseparable from occupational safety. Footwear production involves flammable adhesives, EVA thermal molding, hot-melt film laminating, and combustible carton packaging materials.
To ensure world-class working conditions and safeguard international brand client shipments against disruption, WIDEWAY GROUP completed a comprehensive multi-million-yuan audit and infrastructure upgrade of its ChenDai manufacturing campus in accordance with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and amfori BSCI audit standards.
2. Key Safety Upgrades Installed
• Dedicated Fire Safety Water Reservoir: Upgraded 500-cubic-meter rooftop and subterranean water storage connected to dual high-pressure diesel emergency pumps.
• Comprehensive Automatic Sprinkler & Smoke Detection Grid: Over 800 optical smoke sensors and fast-response sprinkler heads installed across all production floors, cutting workshops, and material warehouses.
• Dual Exterior Fire Escapes & Luminous Evacuation Signage: Widened, non-slip steel fire escape stairwells on opposing ends of Building 8A, ensuring full personnel evacuation within 120 seconds during drill simulations.
• Hazardous Chemical Enclosures: Specialized explosion-proof storage rooms for adhesives, primers, and solvents with spark-proof electrical fittings and continuous low-VOC extraction fans.
• Worker Ergonomics & Air Quality: Transitioned 100% of assembly lines to water-based non-toxic adhesives, reducing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to near-zero and eliminating chemical odors.
3. Audit Verification by International Certification Bodies
Following independent on-site audits conducted by Bureau Veritas and SGS inspectors, WIDEWAY achieved zero major non-conformances, maintaining our Grade-A BSCI social audit certification and clearing all fire safety prerequisites for Tier-1 European supermarket and American sportswear licensing partnerships.
